Fort Bend County Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 9th Year
FORT BEND COUNTY, TX- For the ninth year, the Government Finance Officers Association(GFOA) of the United States and Canada awarded Fort Bend County with the "Distinguished Budget Presentation Award" for its budget. The award represents a significant achievement and reflects commitment to meeting the highest principles of government and budgeting.
In order to receive the Budget Award, Fort Bend County had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation that includes a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications device. Budget documents must read "proficient" in all four categories and the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories to receive the award. Pamela Gubbels, Director of Finance & Investments, accepted the award on behalf of Fort Bend County. County Judge Robert Hebert recognized Mrs. Gubbels and the Office of Finance and Investments during Commissioners Court on June 26th for this outstanding achievment.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving over 17,600 government finance professionals throughout North America. The GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only National Awards program in governmental budgeting.
